About Alejandra Sofía
Alejandra is an elementary teacher who served Teach for America for a few years and got her masters in Bilingual Education. She is fluent in both Spanish and English, so she has always taught in a bilingual classroom. Being born in Mexico City, and raised in Ohio, Alejandra holds a unique immigrant perspective that informs her art.
She has visited over thirty countries, and has fallen in love with turning her life experience into poetry. She published her first poetry collection in 2022 after backpacking the US for about a year and her second collection came out in 2024. She hopes her poetry can resonate with others who treasure the complexities of being human.
Aside from poetry, Alejandra loves yoga and is a certified yoga teacher. Her first business was Little Beings, a yoga club for kids. At the moment, she is focusing on her writing, but plans to continue teaching in the future.
A Timeless Arriving is a poetry collection about a soul learning to embrace the paradoxical journey of being human – love and hope, pain and fear, loss and grief. Alejandra published her first poetry book in 2022 after traveling for a year on her spiritual pilgrimage. She has found a home within writing, and her poetry welcomes all walks of life. In 2023, her poetry became stronger and more real as her healing became fuel to dream again. A Timeless Arriving takes you on a healing journey from fear to peace and shows that she never abandoned herself, making her heart the greatest home she’s ever had.
